A video about Dracula and Nosferatu
Progress on this has been going pretty slow. I've been getting almost intimidated by the scope of this video, and it continues growing larger every time I write more. It's gonna be over an hour long I think, which is honestly just much larger that I anticipated lol. I'm excited, I still want to finish it, I honestly think I'm cooking up a banger video. It just might be a bit of a longer wait than I first anticipated.
A big part of the problem is that the scope of the first section on Dracula was relatively tame at first, almost like a bullet point list just generally getting the ideas out. I didn't plan on keeping it that way, I originally just wanted to get all my thoughts out as a starting point and then go back and polish it, but then I went kinda crazy on the Nosferatu half. So, I had to go back and bring everything in the Dracula section up to the same level. Now, I accidentally went crazy on the Dracula section, with one subsection of it being longer than the entirety of the Nosferatu section. I think I'll have to go back and expand on the Nosferatu stuff. But, I feel good and confident about it. I think I'm just bringing it overall to a great level of quality that I'm feeling really happy with. Be patient, the video is coming.
Media that I've been consuming lately
I've been listening to a lot of music by Haircuts for Men recently, a vaporwave / barber beats artist. If you don't know what that genre is, don't worry I don't really either. I just know that I like their stuff a lot. I'd highly recommend checking out their album パステル勾配 lp, you can find it on YouTube or on Bandcamp, the link I provided goes to their Bandcamp page, where you can support them or download it for free. It's good stuff.
Some other random stuff
I've been shifting away from Spotify and other streaming platforms in favor of having my own digital collection, which I've been streaming with a program called AIMP, it's not open source as far as I'm aware which is a bit of a bummer, but I really like it's layout and the way that it works with it's selection of plugins. I can have it scrobble to my last.fm account for example which is a pretty huge plus in my book, but that's honestly not 100% necessary so I might keep looking for alternatives. I might check out Elisa, the default music player that ships with KDE Plasma, we will see. If you have any other recommendations for local music players you should totally hit me up somewhere and lmk. I'd love to find an open source alternative to AIMP with its plugin functionality, and I also really like the podcast subscription feature.
I just finished reconfiguring the Index page. Now instead of it showcasing a "things I've been working on" and "media I've been consuming" like it did before and like this blog entry does, it'll just show an embed of my most recent blog entry. Something that I discovered though, is that internal linking does not work properly when you click the links within the embed for some reason. Kind of odd, but I guess it's not that big of a deal. I also created the Blog Archive page which might be silly because you can do essentially the same thing by just looking through the blog folder, but I dunno I thought it would be cool.
